In other words there’s total overkill in its usage, and very often it’s totally unnecessary, often as a result or poor presentation skills. When presenting, remember that PowerPoint is a tool to aid effective presentations, not the presentation itself.

In this article I’ll be considering some tips that can be used during the presentation itself.

Before starting on this however think about what should go into each presentation slide. Too often I have seen a paragraph of text on a slide, and due to the amount on the slide it’s too small to read. Not a good start, but then the presenter proceeds by reading the slide word for word, so what’s the point of the presenter? None, just give me a copy of the slides and I’ll read it myself. Classic “Death by PowerPoint”! Instead use a few short bullet points on each slide, and talk round about it. This allows for the presenter to elaborate on each point, and inject his or her personality making it far less boring, after all I’m there to listen to the presenter not read off the screen.

So now to some of the tips that can help make a more presenter appear more confident using PowerPoint. The following keyboard shortcuts can be used while you running a presentation in full screen mode.

Slide show shortcuts

<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"
